Nadine is in her room and resting. She was pretty aware when she got settled and looks pretty good for having endured 3 1/2 hours of surgery. I won't be surprised if she is blogging and emailing before we leave Rochester, most likely on Friday.
Thank-you, Alan for posting. Happy Birthday, Nadine. Jeff and I are thinking good thoughts about you and know you will be back to your usual escapades with your buddies soon. Hope your Mom is holding up as well as you! (Just kidding.)

Everyone with breast cancer needs her own personal biologist
Here's mine!
My Heroes
Gabi, who's been HIV+ for at least 22 years and still looks like a million bucks! He's got the mind-body thing going on, too. (I wonder if that's his secret to longevity...) I'm still working on learning how to do that.
Lynn who beat breast cancer just as i was discovering mine -- and Zack, who helped her do it!
Lance Armstrong, who found out after he beat stage 3 testicular cancer that he'd had a 3% chance of recovery. (There ARE only 3 stages in testicular cancer...) It's not about the tour de france.... I'm not a racer -- I love biking but everyone knows i'm too chicken to fly down hills!
Rosa, who bikes so fast that I couldn't keep up with her before i started taking chemo..... (I used to think I could, but it turns out she was just keeping down with me...) She's older than my mom -- and i'm going to need all the years between my age and hers to maybe almost kind of get somewhere close to her speed!
Joan, who has come with me to three chemo infusions so far, the last two as my bike escort, set up a system to coordinate dinners for me, came with me to the surgery to take the initial diagnostic node out (back when i wasn't even worried about cancer.) She even made me a dinner, which she says she never does. (I liked it better than any one else in the family.) I'll stop here but the list goes on....
Mom, who gave up her summer plans to come hang out with me and addresses any guilty twinges i might have by telling me she's doing it for herself!
Emily, Matthew & Pinky
You can't see it here but Matthew is taller than me now....

Thanks for keeping us posted, Alan!! I really appreciate it. Please tell Nadine I'm thinking about her every day.
Nadine,
Happy Birthday! I wish you a speedy recovery, a safe trip back to Arlington, and we'll see you back on the trails!
Best,
Susan
